CAREER SPECIFICATIONS

 

A Level Technician $50K - $100K/year
Flat Rate Master Tech preferred minimum OBD II certified
$3,000 Sign on bonus available at Manager's discretion.

B/C Level Technician $35K - $45K/year
Flat rate OBD II certification preferred
$1,500 Sign on bonus available at Manager's discretion.

Express Service Technician $30K - $35K/year
Hourly position experience preferred but not required. Basic tools provided and training available
$500 Sign on bonus available at Manager's discretion.

Is the shop heated? Air conditioned?
Air conditioned/heated shop.

What is the size of the team I’d be working with?
Fixed OPS 11.

What are the shop hours and what are the shift timeframes?
Mon-Fri 7:30-5:30, Sat 8-4 alternating.

What tools does the shop provide that are available for all technicians to use?
Manufacturer specialty tools including diagnostic equipment. Technicians are expected to have hand tools, air tools and tool boxes. Start up tools provided for entry level technicians.

What type of break room facility is provided?
Large break room with fridge, microwave and ample seating.

How many bays does your shop have?
10 plus alignment rack.

How many repair orders do you average per month?
1,150

What is your parts ordering process?
Utilize TCC for parts ordering and Advisor communications.

What is your policy on side work?
Positive fast paced working environment.

Are there any other unique features of the work environment worth noting?
Ongoing training provided.
 

 

Do you offer any skills training or continuing education opportunities?
Shop pays for completed and passed ASEs, manufacturer training including off site.

Can you describe opportunities for career growth at your business?
How far you go depends on your drive. Opportunities for advancement for qualified individuals are considered.

Can you describe your performance review process?
At Service Manager's discretion performance reviews are done after first 90 days and annually there after.

What type of safety training is required?
Annual safety training is provided by KPA.

Can you describe how Techs work with and mentor younger techs?
Our Senior techs are more than willing to mentor and assist new and upcoming techs.

Do you do anything with local high schools or tech schools to encourage more students to enter the profession?
We are on several vocational tech school's bulletin boards always seeking new techs.

Where do you see the shop in five years?
Year over year growth has been consistent and projected to continue growth.

Do you have an application form and how long does it typically take to complete?
We do have an online application and it usually takes less than 10 minutes to complete.

Do you phone screen applicants before doing in-person interviews?
Applicants are screened by the hiring manager and then an in person or phone interview is scheduled.

What do your in-person interviews entail?
One on one question and answer with the hiring manager.

Do you perform background checks, drug screening, or personality tests before hiring an applicant?
Background and MVR are conducted prior to offer and with hire being contingent to outcome.

Approximately how long does the full hiring process take from submitting the application to the time of the hiring decision?
Depending on the number of applicants and results from Background & MVR which varies

How is onboarding completed for new hires?
Approved applicants complete online onboarding once approved for hire
